RAVENSTONE AUTHOR SHORTLISTED FOR THREE MB BOOK AWARDS

Winnipeg, April 1, 2015—Ravenstone, an imprint of Turnstone Press is pleased to announce that Kraken Bake by Karen Dudley was shortlisted for three Manitoba Book Awards this year including the Margaret Laurence Award for Fiction, the Mary Scorer Award for Best Book by a Manitoba Publisher, and the Manuela Dias Book Design of the Year.

Turnstone Press and Ravenstone congratulate all of our authors who have been shortlisted for this year’s Manitoba Book Awards.

Nominated Turnstone Press books:

What Lies Behind by Luann Hiebert was shortlisted for two awards, Eileen McTavish Sykes Award for Best First Book, and the Lansdowne Prize for Poetry.

Magpie Days by Brenda Sciberras was shortlisted for the Eileen McTavish Sykes Award for Best First Book and John Hirsch Award for Most Promising Manitoba Writer.

Barker by Wayne Tefs has been shortlisted for the Carol Shields Winnipeg Book Award, Boy Lost in Wild by Brenda Hasiuk for the Mary Scorer Award for Best Book by a Manitoba Publisher.

We would like to congratulate all nominees for the well-deserved recognition of their work.

The Manitoba Book awards gala takes place on Saturday, April 25, in the Skyview Ballroom of the Malborough Hotel.
